Hello & Namaste! I’m Rucha!
It wasn’t until I committed to a daily practice on January 1st, 2015, that I began to see profound changes within myself. Meditating every-single-day has made the deepest impact on my life. Daily meditation has changed what I think + how I think, it has transformed my habits + my lifestyle, it has helped me to live with a balanced mind + respond more (react less).
I am here to share my journey with you- the tools I have used to get here, what my process has been like, what have been the so-called challenges + successes.
From my own experience, I have created resources, guides + courses, to help inspire your own meditation journey.
Peace + happiness are not lofty ideals, you already have the power within you to live it, be it. I am here to help you uncover the magic that already resides inside of you.
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME…
How did your path to peace begin?
My father taught me how to meditate when I was a child. I remember having a regular practice as a kid, sitting in front of our family’s altar each night for a few minutes to focus my mind and withdraw my senses. When I was younger, I also remember seeing my father practice yoga (asanas, or the physical practice) in the morning and both my parents having their own sadhana (daily spiritual practice). Growing up, I studied Vedic scriptures and ancient Sanskrit texts. Spirituality has been a part of my life from a very young age.
What makes you qualified to teach others about spirituality, meditation, and yoga?
Apart from my own experience, knowledge, and daily practice, I am:
300-hour Certified Vedic Meditation Teacher trained by Shree Mahesh Heritage Meditation School in Rishikesh, India
Level I and II Certified Meditation Teacher trained by The Expanding Light at Ananda
200-hour Certified Yoga Teacher trained by Be the Change Yoga
I have also participated in several workshops and retreats including, “Women Allies for Social Change,” a course bringing a Buddhist framework to inner peace and social action, through the International Women’s Partnership for Peace and Justice (IWP) in Thailand. Additionally, I was involved in a combined creative writing and meditation course at Manzanita Village, which led to a collective book publication of short stories called The Eye, The Heart, The Word: Susan Moon & Her Students at Manzanita Village. I have also sat 10 days of silence in Vipassana meditation.
How is what you offer unique or different from other yoga & meditation teachers?
I focus on creating a daily meditation practice. I believe that when we make meditation a priority and consistent practice, it transforms our lives. By having a greater sense of calmness, expanded awareness, and higher consciousness, we begin to live differently and approach our lives from a deeper level. Our focus shifts to becoming the best version of ourselves that we can be in every circumstance, thereby letting go of the things that hold us back.
All of my posts on the website come from direct experience, meaning I practice everything I write about and have only come to understand it through my own application of it.
What does your spiritual practice look like these days?
I am proud to say that I have been able to commit to a daily meditation practice since January 1st, 2015! Having an everyday practice has positively changed me in many ways, including finding peace of mind and more sustained joy. I am convinced that the way to true happiness is by creating and sticking to a daily meditation practice.
