Most of the time when someone wants to learn how to meditate, it is for a particular reason. Sometimes it is to feel calmer, better manage stress, or regulate emotions. Whatever the intention, there is usually some purpose for wanting to create a meditation practice. We should definitely feel inspired to meditate, however having expectations for certain results can adversely affect our meditation practice. So, the question is, should we expect anything at all from meditation? If yes, then, what?
